Air Force Marathon Recap

The Air Force Marathon and Half Marathon took place at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on Saturday, September 15 in Dayton (technically Fairborn), Ohio. Not counting one-off’s and races that a few members of the team decided to run (like the North Country trail race in August), this was the fourth official Team G(race) race since the team started in February 2011. Unlike our previous team races, this was the first time we had multiple people participating in the full marathon versus the half.

Flying High at the Air Force Marathon

On Saturday, September 17, 2011, eighteen members of Team G(race) joined 13,000 other runners and walkers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio for the Air Force Marathon. Our journey began in June when we started to meet every Saturday morning for 13 weeks to get ready for the half marathon. The summer season started with many familiar faces from our winter/spring session, but we also welcomed several new members, and picked up others throughout the summer. Continue reading

One Week Until We Fly, Fight, Win

Our second session of Team G(race) is nearing the end, at least for the majority of the team. One week from today, eighteen TG members will be at the Air Force Marathon, with sixteen competing in the half, one doing the full, and one doing the 10k. We have trained for 12 weeks, and in stark contrast to our winter/fall session, we have endured one of the hottest summers in this area in decades. Now the prize for our hard work is in sight.
